ReviewsOak Cottage at Finnich SteadingReview Submitted: May 16, 2011 Date of Stay: April 2011
From the offset of booking our short 4 day break at Oak Cottage, through to our departure, Marguerite and Andrew ensured our stay was relaxing and trouble free. The accommodation has been built and maintained to a very high specification and is immaculately presented. All the essentials for a family are on hand (including the very well tempered labrador to play with) and being able to watch the children playing in the fields and woods without a care in the world was in itself relaxing for us. The walks in the local area were peaceful, with the call of the cuckoo, deer silhouetted on the hilltop and new born lambs everywhere. The views of Ben Lomond from the bedroom window was fabulous!
As a base for exploring South West Scotland, the location was perfect. On the relatively quiet roads (compared to the South East of England) and through spectacular scenery, we ventured through Argyll, being at Loch Fyne and Inverary Castle and Jail to the West and Stirling Castle to the East in less than an hour. The shores of Loch Lomond were just minutes drive away. The local hostelries in Drymen and Balloch served great food and good quality local produce was widely available in the local villages - the smoked salmon from Inverawe Smokery was excellent. The best place in the Loch Lomond area !Review Submitted: August 19, 2010 Date of Stay: July 2010
We were so happy in this cottage that we extended our stay for another week ! That is telling, I suppose. Beautifully restored and decorated, with very much charme from both Scotland and Austria, you will find everything in place you heart desires. Breathtaking views to the Loch Lomond mountains, 100% tranquility, spacious rooms to live in - what can you expect more. This place is a must if you look for a convenient location to start from discovering the Loch Lomond National Park, the city of Glasgow, or the Southern part of the HIghlands. Even Edinburgh is not far away. You will love it, too !

Rowan cottageReview Submitted: August 1, 2010 Date of Stay: July 2010
Our recent holiday in the Loch Lomond area was made complete by the excellent accomodation in the beautiful Rowan cottage. The cottage was equipped to the highest standard. It was modern, clean and exceptionally comfortable. The setting was idylic and very central for touring the surrounding areas. For those who wish to eat in, supplies were easily accessible and for those who prefer to be treated, nearby Drymen was a haven of fine eateries. Marguerite and Andrew could not have been more welcoming and helpful. It truly was a home from home.

Holiday in Loch LomondReview Submitted: July 11, 2010 Date of Stay: June 2004
My wife and I along with our small dog spent a very enjoyable week at Rowan Cottage, facilities were first class as was the quality of the interior and layout of the cottage. The courtyard setting added an extra dimension of space in which to enjoy the morning sun and the clear evening skies. The surrounding land provided woodland walks, field and mountain views and glimpses of deer, hares, rabbits and squirrels along with a large variety of birds.
We found the location to be ideal for visiting nearby Loch Lomond`s east and west side towns and many attractions eg ; Balloch, Luss, Callender, etc. Andrew and Marguerite made us feel very welcome and were most helpful with suggestions regarding places to visit and dine locally. Our only reluctance in writing this review is that too many people will discover this holiday haven as we hope to return many times.
